About Scruff's Grill
Our History
Every great story starts with a dream, and ours began on June 1, 2015, when Ron and Vanessa Bell opened the doors next door at American Taco Company. They had a simple mission: serve great food, treat people like family, and become a place the Rolla community could call its own.
As the years went by, our guests continued to support us in ways we could have only imagined. That support inspired us to dream a little bigger.
In 2021, we opened Scruff's Grill right next door to American Taco Company. We literally opened the wall between the two restaurants, creating one shared kitchen and dining room where guests could enjoy two completely different menus under one roof. Whether you're craving tacos or a perfectly smashed burger, you don't have to choose—we believe everyone at the table should be able to enjoy exactly what they're hungry for.
At Scruff's Grill, every burger starts with fresh 1855 Black Angus Ground Chuck, hand-portioned and smashed to order to create the crispy edges and juicy flavor that have become our signature. Just like everything we serve, it's made with care because we believe quality is never an accident.
Today, both restaurants continue to operate side by side with the same purpose that started it all: serving great food, creating memorable experiences, and treating every guest like family. Thank you for supporting our family's dream.
